Sleep, The Creative Person's Best Friend

I’m a a sleeper

I know for some, sleep can be quite elusive. and it is my intention to do more research on sleep in the future, and write about some creative techniques for getting more of it.

But for those who have no problems with getting sleep, this post is especially for you.

Are you aware that you could be using sleep not just as a way to recover, but also as a way to give yourself a creative advantage?

I have been using sleep as a tool for as far back as I can remember. I would place it squarely as the #1 tool in my creative toolbox and honestly, in all areas of my life..

Waiting to sleep when I die (the entrepreneur’s  mantra) would literally kill me.

I cannot function unless I have had enough sleep.

Almost every paper that I wrote in college came to fruition after a nap or a good night’s sleep.

I would dare to say that 90% of my ideas come during that hazy Theta State between being asleep and being nearly awake, often before daylight, ideas like the blog post that spawned this blog post.

Yes, in my half asleep, half awake state, I wrote not one, but two blog posts.

A post within a post.

Okay, okay I may be exaggerating a tad, but you get the point.

The bottom line, if you want to create awesome stuff, you want to be a boss babe, you want to rule your world?

Do yourself a huge favor, get some sleep!
