I Really Am All About The Cake Life

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite questions when my parents asked me if I wanted to go places with them was “Will there be refreshments?” Refreshments to me usually meant dessert, punch, and some form of cake, because to me refreshments, especially cake meant happiness.

I used to think, no matter what adult situation I had to endure, dinner with friends, prayer meetings, coffee meetings, parties, even back to school night, it would all be good because at the end, there would be something decadent and sweet. The older I get, I want to skip all of the boring, mundane, ugly parts of life, the adult stuff, and go straight for the cake.

At a time in life where there is so much uncertainty, so much strife and things are frankly a little dark and scary, I believe that we should all have a little something sweet to look forward to.

We should skip straight to the refreshments…we should try our best whenever possible to live as well as possible.

Forget the other stuff, where is the cake?

Yes, I want a cake life, I want a life that is luxurious and decadent, beautiful and sweet, just like cake.

I know that may sound frivolous and I also know that there is no way that a cake life is 100 percent sustainable.

I am not delusional…much.

I am and always will be hopeful.

Life can be so sweet if we’re open.

Somedays it may be a new skincare item, an experience, a joke or tips on how to be more productive, creative and just happy in general. You will always be able to find something sweet here: something cake-worthy, a place to refresh.

I believe in living my life in a constant state of mindful flow and I want to take my readers with me.

It is not so much about living in a fantasy that your life is perfect all of the time, it is about capturing the fleeting moments when life actually is perfect.
